Designed and engineered to withstand a horizontal force of 1600kg, with each Ram producing over 1 tonne of pressure, enough to take on the biggest packs in international rugby.
The machines enormous horizontal force creates 900kg of uplift at the front of the leg. This is stabilized with six ground anchor screws that have a hold down capability of 600kg per screw.
Pressure can be controlled,adjusted and measured to expose player(s) strengths, discrepancies and track improvement. With this level of assessment is easy to create a safe and powerful scrum.

The most significant element of the Silver Fern Live Scrum Machine is the patented Rail System, which in combination with the push back from the Pneumatic Rams creates controlled instability, including a capacity for lateral movement, thus simulating an opposition scrum.
Pressure can be controlled, adjusted and gauged to expose player(s) strengths, discrepancies and measure improvement. This level of assessment makes it is easy to create a safe and powerful scrum.
With a pressure gauge and the control to adjust pressure, you will know your most powerful scrum. The pressure gauge allows you to see improvement in you teams’ efforts. We often see up to 25% power gains in one session.
An on-off switch and a dial, it takes 2 minutes to learn how to use Live Scrum. Coaches can operate the machine while coaching the scrum.
It can also be used for strength and conditioning training.

There is very little maintenance required on Live Scrum Machine.
As long as it is moving freely, and all bolts are tight it is good to go. Please ensure you check the Manual for the Compressor for specific instructions.
An area of 5x5m is ideal but it can be smaller.
The machine itself only takes up 1.5 x 1.2m.
At 6 bar Live Scrum creates 1 tonne of pressure per pneumatic ram. This is dissipated due to the angle of the ram so we estimate at 6 Bar there is 1600 kg of horizontal force, enough to test even the biggest packs.
